Etymology-

“Hashima” [端島] means “Scrap Island”

History-

The Hashima are a clan of weapons summoners, their most common weapons being kunai and shuriken, though other bladed weapons such as swords and naginata have been observed. Their unique fighting style is respected and feared.

During the Warring Clans era, the Hashima earned a reputation as masters of weapons summoning, often utilizing scrolls. When the Hidden Leaf was founded, the Hashima joined during the village’s first few years.

The Hashima also have ties with the Hagane, a clan of weapons makers known for their custom weapons.

Due to the great care that the Hashima take of their weapons, some have become extremely skilled at picking up minute details, putting that skill to use as detectives.

Special Hashima techniques and tools-

Weapons-

Hashima clan members are known to make extensive use of many different types of melee and thrown ninja weapons. These weapons are mainly used from scrolls and thrown at the opponent, either by hand or shot out of the scroll. The effectiveness of the attack depends on the kind of seal used and the skill of the user.

Their fighting style has a weakness against techniques that can blow away or halt their weapons, Wind Release being one example. However, if enhanced with Wind Release on their end, the weapons will likely get through. Other elements such as Fire Release or Lightning Release would help make the attack even deadlier.

The Hashima are also known to use many different weapons in close-range combat and melee combat when ranged combat doesn’t work.

After a battle in which a Hashima clan member is present, the field is often described as a field or forest of blades, prompting warnings about protective footwear.

Elemental Ninjutsu-

Skilled clan members are known to make use of elemental ninjutsu with their long-range and melee attacks, infusing the elements into their weapons. Those who have a lot of experience and skill, as well as great chakra control, are able to combine elements such as fire and wind to create a gigantic firestorm with lethal blades or lightning and water to first saturate the area with water-coated blades then lighting-infused blades to electrify the water.

Enclosing Technique and Unsealing Technique-

These two techniques make their fighting style possible.

First is the Enclosing Technique, which is a technique that can store a wide variety of objects and even living things and people inside the scroll. Defensive tools and even elements and ninjutsu can also be sealed inside the scroll.

Living beings and people sealed inside the scroll are put into a kind of “stasis”, where they are perfectly preserved and can be transported. This also allows one to save a badly-injured individual by sealing them inside the scroll until medical help arrives. However, if the seal runs out of chakra, the individual becomes unsealed and reappears. This technique requires a lot of practice and skill to use on living beings properly, which is why very few use it aside from the Hashima and the Uzumaki.

It is theorized that with the proper Uzumaki seals, setup, and a lot of chakra beyond what most have, a living person could be sealed for years, decades, maybe even centuries.

The Unsealing Technique is the reverse, unsealing whatever has been sealed.

Also, like the Hagane, the Hashima specialize in using concealed weapons. The Hagane research new forms of concealed weapons and how to use them, further expanding the number of concealed weapons for use.
I always wondered why Tenten never got a surname. Everyone else of the Konoha 12 (minus Sai) has one.

But I shouldn't be surprised. Canon has not treated female characters well. In fact, Temari seems to have gotten the best treatment. Must be why she is hardly seen.

Well, Temari and Tsunade...

But yeah, I always wondered why she was never given a surname too...
