Etymology-

Yanagikage [柳陰] means “Willow Shadow”

Naming-

The names of Yanagikage clan members are suffixed with “-kage” [蔭], which means “Shadow”

Example: “Kokage” [木蔭] means “Shade of a Tree”

History-

During the Warring Clans era, the Yanagikage were known for their affinity for and mastery of Wind Release techniques. They were also known for their stealth, befitting their surname. They used their skills to gain information on other clans and to stay one step ahead of others’ developments.

They joined the Hidden Leaf several years after its founding, just before the First Ninja World War.

Special Yanagikage techniques and tools-

Wind Release-

Owing to their affinity for Wind Release, Yanagikage clan members are known to use a large number of defensive and offensive Wind Release techniques.

Stealth-

The Yanagikage made use of stealth to seriously injure or kill unwary foes, commonly using shuriken and kunai.
